Yes, video is important. But things aren’t the way they used to be. Before you could throw a few videos in the air and out would fall leads or at least interested parties.
Now video is EVERWHERE! You see everyone posting videos. It’s like Facebook (especially) became a mini YouTube. I can’t scroll once without seeing a video. Now I’m not complaining. Hell, I’m probably one of the reasons why people keep doing it. But for me a big part of why video worked so well by itself eas because hardly anyone was doing it. So the results came faster, your credibility went up even higher when you did it, and it was easier to stand out.
I’m not saying video is bad but I just see personally that just doing video by itself isn’t working like it used to. Now you have to fund the right people to see your content and this is what I’m about to share with you.
Here are 3 ways you can make sure you get the RIGHT people to see your content:
- Your personal sphere: making sure your personal social media accounts are filled with your past and potential customers.
- Your database: Sending these videos to your database either via email or Facebook ads.
- Target audiences: Do videos specifically for a certain demographic.
Marketing Your Sphere
This is the number one problem I see. People adding their competition and honestly having people that will RARELY do business with them on their personal Facebook and Instagram accounts. What you should work on is getting a friends list full of potential clients.
Lets take Facebook for example. You are limited to 5k personal friends and if you notice on your Facebook timeline you only see “Sponsored Ads” and your friends posts. So you’re only doing to be the ad or the friend when it comes to exposure. Your video isn’t going to be shown if you just post it on your business page. Take advantage of the fact that Facebook gives you more free reach using your personal page, and this will only be valuable if you fill your friends list with potential clients.
Here is how you do it:
- Get 5-10 of your highly qualified clients
- Add them as friends on Facebook
- Every other day go into their friends list and add 5-10 of their friends
Your Database
I’m going to be honest. 2018 I didn’t put enough effort into my database as I should’ve. The more and more I research what others are doing the more importance I start putting on my database.
THINK ABOUT IT! All these bug tech companies are just collecting your data in every which way and profiting from it. Are you doing the same with your business?
Yes, it’s a given. Create a newsletter with each video and post it along with the video. Water your database with valuable content.
But also you can upload this database to Facebook and it will match all the emails connected with a Facebook account so that all your prospects see that video on their timeline as well. Even on Instagram. This saves you money on targeting the RIGHT people!

Targeted Videos
This is something I don’t see many people doing and when I see an opportunity like that I like to capitalize on it. That will be a major goal for in 2019.
Doing videos for very targeted audiences. Too many people are trying to make a video for everyone. Getting targeted in your video content so you can follow the next step is crucial. For example:
We do marketing here at Digital Faces. We do it for different businesses but we have a good amount of real estate brokerage. Therefore we should make videos just for real estate brokers and offices.
Once we are done creating the video we will then get all the brokers I’m friends with on a Facebook friends list and post it there. If there are any broker groups we post it there as well.
Have an organized database with a group of just brokers? You guessed it! Here comes a newsletter straight to them!
Want to do Facebook ads targeting brokers in SoCal? Great idea! You see where I’m going with this? We are being very strategic in our plan to get more leads. You should be thinking this way too and if you need help targeting your audience feel free to email me at Shannon@DigitalFaces.net
